This original, conceptual photograph showcases the Palm Beach Zoo Flamingos enjoying the water spray of the entrance fountain to the zoo. I took hundreds of digital photographs of the flamingos in their watery habitat. At the end of my walk through the zoo I sat down on the ground in front of the main entrance fountain to watch several children cooling off in the water from the heat of a hot August afternoon. I fell in love with these care free beautiful scene. In order to recreate this scene, I replaced the children with flamingos and rebuilt the entire fountain from the bricks to the spouts, splash and reflections. In the end, I believe I kept the sensation of fun and freedom I witnessed…which is why I titled this piece ‘The Celebration’. KASHA
