Description

Rodrigo de la Sierra Díaz is a highly accomplished artist based in Mexico City, where he was born in 1971. With a Bachelor’s in Architecture and extensive training in Plastic Arts, he has built a successful career in the visual arts, specializing in sculpture. Rodrigo’s talent and passion have earned him numerous accolades, including an Honorary Doctorate from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México and a spot in Forbes magazine’s Top 10 of the 100 Most Creative Mexicans in the world in 2021. His character Timoteo has been celebrated in a special draw by the Lotería Nacional and even appeared on a national Post Stamp in honor of “World Post Day”.

Over the years, Rodrigo has studied Plastic Arts extensively, taking workshops on Materials and Patina Techniques, as well as Sculpture at the Pippal’s Sculpture and Art Circle. He also received training in modeling, wood carving, molds and casting, and figurative sculpture at the prestigious Universidad Iberoamericana. Despite his extensive formal education, Rodrigo’s development as an artist is largely self-taught, a testament to his innate talent and relentless drive to push the boundaries of his craft.

Today, Rodrigo’s work is exhibited in Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, Puebla, Xalapa, Chicago, and cities in South Korea and Malaysia. His stunning creations, which showcase his exceptional skill and imagination, have earned him a reputation as one of the most innovative and accomplished artists of his generation.
