Michaelann’s paintings focus  on humans’ complex relationship with water. The pool series explores nostalgic memories of the safety and fun of a summer night’s swim surrounded by illuminated, colorful floats and flickering lights, but implying an ominous danger beyond the lights, under the surface, and by the unnatural tilted plane.
