Human Knots is a series of sculptures that delve into the intricate and complex nature of human relationships. Created using LED light rods and ropes, each piece features a variety of knots, macrame details, nodes, and tangled weaves. These elements come together to represent the multifaceted connections that bind people to one another. The sculptures symbolize the myriad of ties—both seen and unseen—that weave our relationships into a rich tapestry of human interaction. The knots and nodes capture the challenges, intricacies, and beauty found within these connections, while the light rods highlight the strength and illumination that relationships can bring into our lives.
“Simplicity?” initially aimed to explore the contrast to Complexity by presenting a seemingly straightforward and uncomplicated relationship. However, as the work developed, it became clear that even what seems simple is layered with complexity. This sculpture, with its clean lines and gentle curves, represents the notion that even relationships that appear simple on the surface are woven with their own complexities and subtleties.
This work illustrates that what seems simple often holds deeper layers and hidden elements. The evolving nature of Simplicity? challenges the idea that relationships can be purely uncomplicated, highlighting that even in simplicity, there are always underlying connections and dynamics.
